one thing i've noticed is that when reviewing dubstep i've created a term i call a "catch". to explain a "catch" is a small series of notes that are used throughout the majority of a song, like how ocarina medleys in ocarina of time where just pieces of a song but still captured the whole mood.
another term used in animations that i made up is called "exaggerated animations". basically its when an emotion/ art is exaggerated to ridiculous levels. the awesome animations are notorious for this. the whole idea was probably funny at one point, but then so were clowns and those wind up teeth. they aren't funny anymore but they're still used.
i doubt these are the only terms i'll come up with but i'll just edit this and add more when i come up with more.
